House in southern Sweden, Hjo, near lake Vättern

Our house was built in 1947 by a local architect/builder who himself lived in the house with his family for many years. It has been gently restored and modernised to better suit the needs of our time, but still has a lot of typical details and a "retro" feeling to it.

The house has two floors and a basement. On the entrance floor you will find the kitchen, a light livingroom / diningroom, a bedroom and a toilet/bathroom with a shower. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a double bed, two children´s rooms and a snug with a sofa that easily can be made into an extra double bed. There is also a guest toilet. The laundryroom, which also has a bubblebath for two and a sauna, is in the basement. There are also a rowingmaschine and a ping-pong table downstairs (sometimes outside in summer).

Our house is comfortable and cosy, and has most modern equipment. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, induction stove, oven, fridge and freezer with cold water and ice mashine. The living room has a fireplace, flatscreen TV, stereo system SONOS and wifi. Upstairs, in the snug, is a TV for watching DVD and playing Nintendo wii. The master bedroom has a flatscreen TV. The laundryroom has a washing machine and a tumbler. Since we have children, you will find plenty of toys in the house.

The garden is 2000 m2 and surrounds the house. On the back of the house, there is a wooden terrace/deck with a small swimmingpool, large lawn, kitchen garden and trees. In the summer it is quite nice to sit on the terrace, take a dip in the pool, or have a barbeque. There is a quality brand barbeque, trampoline and plenty of games and outdoor toys to enjoy in the garden. There are also some bikes for both children and adults.

We live in a quiet village with the forest just around the corner. Behind the house there is a pasture with some cows and opposite the house on the other side of the road there are a farm and some ponds. The village is only 10 km away from the picturesque town of Hjo on the seaside of Lake Vättern, the second biggest lake in Sweden. The regional capital Skövde, with shopping malls and more is only 20 minutes away. The area is great for hiking, cyclingv and swimming and has a lot to see and do for tourists. You can reach the castle of Läckö, the fortress in Karlsborg and sweden*s largest waterworld/amusementpark Skara Sommarland within less than an hour. The location is also strategic for trips to Stockholm (3,5 h drive) or preferably, Gothenburg and the west coast, aprox. 2h by car or 1 h by train from Skövde.
