A two storey house on a modern estate close to shops and restaurant/pub and within walking distance of the town and train station We are looking forward to planning exchanges particularly within the UK and Europe, but are open to offers from anywhere
With its weekly markets, historic streets and beautiful countryside all around, Bishops Stortford manages to keep a rural atmosphere despite its superb transport links to London and Cambridge - it is 35 mins to London Liverpool St station on the Stansted Express train.
Our house is situated on the outskirts of the town on a modern estate and 30 minutes walk into the town and the station. Our house is close to a regular bus route into town and also to London Stansted airport. We are experienced exchangers having been members of another exchange company since 1996 and have completed over 35 exchanges.
We have 1 cat who needs pet care please. Ginger is indoors a lot, particularly in winter, but he can get outdoors through his cat flap when ever he wants to, but we need exchangers who are not allergic to cats. We would be happy to look after your pets too.

We would be happy to go anywhere within the UK for a long weekend or a week. Further afield, anywhere in Europe where we can drive there, perhaps 2 weeks. About the neighborhood
We are on a fairly modern estate, within walking distance to a Sainsbury's Supermarket and local shops including a pharmacy, cafe, hairdressers, post office, newsagent and take-away. We also have a good eating and drinking pub at the end of the road, The Harvest Moon, opposite a bus stop to the centre of Bishops Stortford and/or Stansted airport. From B/S a train will take you into London or north to Cambridge within 35mins in either direction. We are also well placed for short drives by car into the pretty villages of East Anglia with the thatched roofed cottages, or a slighty further drive will take to you the pretty, unspoilt beaches of north Norfolk and Suffolk. Also easily accessible are an abundance of historic properties and beautiful gardens managed by the National Trust and English Heritage.

A super position within walking distance of this lovely old town. It's also in an excellent position to visit many National Trust houses and gardens. We took full advantage of this when we exchanged at the end of Nov when a lot of these houses had Xmas decorations up. We also met Philip and Caroline for a coffee prior to the exchange which was lovely.
Liz en Nick zijn superaardige mensen en hun huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Rustig gelegen en goede uitvalsbasis om met de trein naar London te gaan of andere plaatsen in de omgeving (bijv. Cambridge) te bezoeken of te wandelen in de natuur.

Un très bel échange avec Liz et Nick ! Leur accueil était plein d'attentions, leur documentation très riche et très bien organisée, avec des propositions très documentées. We are both in our 70s. Liz is a retired teacher/educational consultant. Nick is a retired freelance architectural technician. We have been doing home exchange since 1996 (with another company) and have done over 36 exchanges throughout the world. We have 1 easy cat who is fairly independent - but he needs feeding and a lot of fuss when its available from you.
